There is a knock at the door and it is advancement opportunity. The Vulcan District’s 2011 Advance-O-Rama is scheduled for March 26th . This will be held at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.

Our registration deadline is this Thursday. So I must have your course selection by close of business Thursday. Please submit your two course selections and one alternate by then. I will complete our registration Thursday.

You may take a maximum of two merit badges at this event.  Some merit badges take all day and as such if you select one of these you will only have one class.

The offerings are:  Auto Maintenance, Aviation, *Camping, Cinematography, *Citizenship in the Nation, *Citizenship in the World, Crime Prevention, Dentistry, Electricity, *Emergency Preparedness, Fingerprinting, Fire Safety, *First Aid, Geology, Leatherwork, Photography, Plumbing, Swimming, Truck Transportation, Veterinary Medicine, Weather

*Eagle Required.

So what is it you need to do, you ask.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. put Advance-O-Rama in the subject line.  I must receive this information no later than 6:00PM on Thursday. (Woodruff rules apply – You no make sandwiches, you no eat sandwiches!!)

We will depart at 5AM sharp from the Cove UMC parking lot. Permission slips will be made available on the troop web site.

The cost is $12/scout ant this includes lunch. You will need to bring some money for your evening meal as we will plan to stop for dinner.

If you commit to attend reservations will be made on your behalf and you will be expected to pay regardless of whether you attend or not.

We will need some parents to drive so ask yours to support your attendance and participation.
